Renfrew home gutted by early-morning blaze

A home in Renfrew has been destroyed after a devastating fire this morning.

Emergency services raced to Rosslyn Way in the town and neighbours were evacuated shortly after 6am as firefighters tackled the blaze.

The Paisley Express reports the home has been left completely gutted, with fire crews remaining on the scene this morning to ensure the area is safe.

Police have taped off the property and also remain on the scene.

The charred contents of the house could be seen on the grass on the street.

It's understood that the woman in the house did not sustain any serious injuries.

One neighbour, who asked not to be named, said: "Someone banged on my door just after 6am.

"When I got outside I could see the orange flames coming from the window.

"The fire brigade and the police were here really quickly. The house is completely destroyed.

"It's quite scary. All the neighbours were outside and weren't allowed back into their houses."
