Relive your childhood for free at this late-night Edinburgh BYOB gaming cafe

If you've ever fancied experiencing a wee touch of Tokyo, you'll be surprised to find out that you don't have to go much further than Tollcross to find it.

Konbo - Edinburgh's first arcade café - brings Japanese gaming culture to Edinburgh in a comfortable café setting.

Gaming enthusiasts will be impressed by what Konbo has on offer with everything from arcade classics through to specialist games rarely seen outside of Japan. They have over 70 games rotating across 6 machines and their collection is constantly evolving.

Games rotate almost every day - generally, their line-up tends towards having 2 fighters, 2 shoot ’em ups, a puzzle game and a brawler/platformer on at one time.

Tonight (and every Thursday for that matter), you can head along to Konbo for their late night arcade session - all the games are free play, visitors can BYOB and collective Rushdown Edinburgh will be on hand with retro console set-ups (for those who miss their SEGA Megadrive).

Running from 8pm to 11pm the event isn't one for your wee ones , it's strictly adults only.

The gaming hub makes a point of serving up goods from Edinburgh producers - pouring speciality coffee by Artisan Roast and hot chocolate by Coco, offering a selection of traybakes by the nearby Tasty Buns Bakery, and their grilled cheese sandwiches are made with bread from Au Gourmand.

If you really fancy getting involved they also have a selection of imported Japanese snacks, soft drinks and instant ramen to keep you fuelled through your gaming session.

Entry is a fiver and includes unlimited free play on all machines.
