Released Celtic talent 'poised' to join Neil Lennon's Dunfermline after trial

Released Celtic youngster Alasdair Davidson is reportedly poised to join Neil Lennon's Dunfermline Athletic.

The defender has been training with the Scottish Championship outfit since the start of pre-season, and he has featured in all of their friendlies up to this point.

The Courier claims that Davidson is now 'poised' to sign with Dunfermline ahead of the new campaign.

The teenage central defender played 10 times for Celtic's B side last term across the Lowland League and UEFA Youth League.

The three-year deal he signed with the club in 2022 expired this summer, and Dunfermline have moved quickly to secure his services.

Speaking on Davidson at the weekend, Pars boss Lennon said [dafc.co.uk]: "We’re hoping to [sign him] yeah.

"We’re in the discussion with his agents at the minute, so I’m hoping that won’t take too long."

Dunfermline travel to face Heart of Midlothian this weekend as the group stages of the Premier Sports Cup commence.

It remains to be seen whether Davidson will be signed in time to feature at Tynecastle Park.
