RAIPUR: As the dharna by the relatives of late Shikshakarmis, demanding appointment on compassionate grounds, entered the 73rd day on Friday, they got their heads shaved and donated hair to Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, panchayat minister Ravindra Choubey and school education minister Premsai Singh Tekam by making their effigies to draw their attention towards the pre-poll promises.
The women members of the families of late shikshakarmis warned the state government that they will also get shaved and donate their hair if their demands are not met.
Anukampa Niyukti Shikshakarmi Kalyan Sangh, an organisation of the relatives of the late shikshakarmis, president Madhuri Mirge said that their condition is very much similar to the condition of an orphan child. The relatives of the shikshakarmis got their heads shaved to show that they have been orphaned by the state government.
For the last 73 days, they had been protesting in the state capital Raipur, but their plight has fallen on the deaf ears of the state government.
“So soon all the women members of the Sangh will get their heads shaved if the state government does not consider their demands,” she said.
All these women, wives and sisters of late shikshakarmis, have come from different districts of the state, and are agitating in Raipur for more than two months. Earlier, these women had reached Minister Ravindra Choubey's house with a bowl.
