Both the Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings have invested in Kirk Cousins in recent years, with the Vikings taking on Cousins after his time in Washington was up. And it is Cousins’ current team outperforming his former team this season, which has the Vikings contending for the postseason, while the Redskins struggle to find their footing. As the two teams get set to tangle in Week 8, all eyes will be on the Minnesota signal caller.
Redskins vs. Vikings

Washington’s last game was a rain soaked affair against the San Francisco 49ers, which the Niners won by a score of 9-0. The weather prevented either team from getting much going offensively, with the Redskins being held to just 154 yards for the game. Three Robbie Gould field goals were the only scoring in the game. Washington hopes this week that their offense is more potent as they play this Thursday Night Football matchup indoors rather than in the rain.
Minnesota seems to be finding its footing offensively in recent weeks. Their last game saw them win a 42-30 shootout over their division rivals the Detroit Lions. Kirk Cousins threw for 337 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions. Since questions about Cousins grew in volume after Minnesota’s Week 4 loss to the Chicago Bears, the Vikings have won three straight games and have averaged 36 points per game in those wins over the Giants, Eagles, and Lions.
