Redskins still have over $30 million in cap-space — 6th most in NFL

The Washington Redskins have been highly active in the free-agent market so far this offseason, making a total of 18 acquisitions during this period. However, many of those players, outside of cornerback Kendall Fuller, have been low-cost signings that are on 1-2 year ‘prove-it’ deals. This has left the Redskins with some money to spend still.

According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the Redskins have $31,468,435 left in their salary cap, which is the sixth-most in the NFL. Some of that money will eventually be used to sign rookies to a deal after they are drafted, but Washington still has much of that money to play with.

There is a real likely-hood that the Redskins carry over a good chunk of their salary cap space, for which there is no penalty in the NFL, as there is in the NBA. Still, though, there are a number of solid players left on the open market who Washington could take a swing at, so don’t be surprised to see another move made going forward.
