Redskins could return to reopened club facilities in near future

The NFL is set to make headlines on Thursday evening when they release the 32 teams’ schedules for the 2020 season, but it’s important to take it all with a grain of salt. While the schedules will be thrown into calendars, there is a slim chance that everything goes according to play over the next few months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Though there is no telling when NFL games might be played for sure, the league is at least comfortable taking steps forward when it comes to allowing teams to use their facilities to practice. In a memo sent out by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, the league is willing to slowly start the reopening of team facilities in certain states.

It doesn’t mean that minicamp or OTAs are going to take place, and it doesn’t mean that training camp will go on as scheduled either. But it does mean that the league is taking steps forward and planning for a future that is very up in the air right now. At this point, that’s all we can ask for.
