Redskins agree to $84M deal with Giants star Landon Collins

Hard hitting safety Landon Collins will remain in the NFC East, agreeing to a 6-year, $84 million deal according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

The New York Giants did not give Collins the franchise tag, reportedly because of inability to be dynamic defending the passing game. Now New York will get two opportunities per year to prove it to Collins themselves.

Collins, a three-time Pro Bowler racked up 96 total tackles in 12 games after surpassing the 100-tackle mark in each of his first three seasons. The passing game was a different story, as he only amassed eight career interceptions and not a single one in 2018.
