A recall notice has been issued for a popular children's toy - with hundreds of Irish parents affected by the product, bought from Amazon.
There is a risk of damage to a baby or toddler's hearing from the Bright Starts Jingle and Shake Pal toy rattle sold on the Amazon platform.
The notice, issued by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, explains: "The baby rattles the toy and produces a peak noise level exceeding 110 decibels and causes damage to the inner ear.
"The brand is Bright Starts. The type/number of model is 10063. The batch number is unknown. The barcode is 074451100633.
"The product was sold online through the Amazon platform. 228 products were sold to consumers in the Republic of Ireland."
The CCPC also advises parents not to panic if they have bought one of the toys.
Their advice is: "If you purchased one of these products, please discontinue use immediately, discard the product immediately and keep it out of the reach of children.
"You may wish to contact the online store from where you purchased this product to see if there are any remedies available to you. This can be done via your user account on the relevant platform."
