Huddersfield Town are expecting a fitness boost or two ahead of their clash with Nottingham Forest this weekend.
The Terriers welcome the Reds on Saturday afternoon still in the thick of a relegation battle.
and just four points above the drop zone heading into a busy festive period.
And this weekend, they will face a Forest side seeking a return to the top six.
The Reds dropped out of the playoff spots with heavy defeat to Sheffield Wednesday last weekend, though they do have a game in-hand.
Ahead of the game, Huddersfield are hoping for the return of 'one or two' players.
"We are confident we will have one or two back available for the Forest game," Cowley said in his pre-match press conference.
"It's much needed, because it's been a really difficult period - playing three games in a week in the Championship is always tough, particularly when there are two away games in that.
"To do it with such a limited squad and such little depth makes it almost impossible, but we just about got through it and to take four points from the two away games I thought was an outstanding outcome.
"But we need to get to a place where we have got some balance, so maybe one or two left-footers back into the group would help.
"So, too, having Steve Mounie back and available from the beginning would be another option and that can only be good for the group."
