Real Valladolid confirm loan details behind Sandro Ramirez's Everton move and leave door open for future transfer

Real Valladolid sporting director Miguel Angel Gomez has confirmed the Spanish club do not have an option to buy Sandro Ramirez at the expiration of his loan deal from Everton.

Sandro signed for Valladolid on a season-long agreement yesterday after failing to leave an impact at Goodison Park since his transfer from Malaga in 2017.

He has since had spells with Sevilla and Real Sociedad but has failed to score for more than 18 months, dating back to his only Everton goal against Atalanta in a Europa League dead rubber.

Gomez admitted Valladolid were initially interested in a permanent switch for the striker but his hefty financial package was problematic. He did, however, leave the door open for a deal further down the line.

“There is no purchase option in the transfer,” he confirmed via Sport Witness.

“Everton have been a gentlemanly club in the negotiations, and their behaviour with us is totally satisfactory. It opens a way for future negotiations. Salary is a confidential issue, but Everton have behaved quite well with us.

“We would like to own Sandro, but due to its characteristics it was very difficult.”

The sporting director also believes Ramirez will come good in La Liga after a difficult spell in his career.

“The qualities of Sandro are exceptional, you just have to look for the optimum moment of performance,” he added.

“You have to be patient and work with him. Sergio’s system, I think it benefits him, our coach has been a striker, the technical coach and the doctor have also gone through these situations and can help him.”
