Real Madrid suffer injury scare to key man ahead of Man City Champions League semi-final

Real Madrid have been hit with an injury blow ahead of their Champions League semi-final against Manchester City after midfielder Eduardo Camavinga was taken off with a knee problem against Getafe.

City host the Spanish giants at the Etihad Stadium this Wednesday evening in the second leg of their last four encounter. The game is evenly poised following a 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Vinicius Jr put Real ahead in the first half of the opening game in the Spanish capital. However, Kevin De Bruyne equalised for Pep Guardiola's side to ensure the return leg back in Manchester starts on level terms.

City play Everton on Sunday at Goodison Park. Carlo Ancelotti's side have the slight advantage of playing on Saturday evening against Getafe, giving them slightly more rest prior to the big clash.

For that match, Ancelotti took the decision to rest some key Real players and named them on the bench rather than starting against Getafe. Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Vinicius Jr were among those on the bench as Real grabbed a 1-0 win through Marco Asensio's 7-th-minute deflected effort.

Midfielder Camavinga started the encounter, but had to be taken off in the 84th minute due to an injury which appeared to affect his knee, and it remains to be seen what the extent of the problem is. Alvaro Odriozola replaced him in the 1-0 win, which Real emerged victorious in thanks to Marco Asensio's goal.
