Real Madrid 'increasingly confident' of beating Liverpool to Jude Bellingham transfer

Real Madrid are growing 'increasingly confident' that they will sign Jude Bellingham next summer.

Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United have all been linked with Bellingham, 19, over the past 12 months. The midfield maestro has flourished since moving to the Bundesliga in a £25million switch back in 2020 and is expected to be the latest player to leave Dortmund for mega-money at the end of the current campaign.

Bellingham's stock is at an all-time high after starring for England at the World Cup - and while nothing concrete appears to have been decided over his future, Los Blancos are starting to believe that they have won the transfer race for the talented teenager.

According to The Sun, Real Madrid believe that Bellingham is ready to snub a return to England in order to become a Bernabeu icon in a deal that could be worth a whopping £100m.

Manchester City, however, are adamant that they are still firmly in the race for Bellingham and are prepared to table a serious offer for the midfield prodigy, who has been courted extensively by Pep Guardiola for the past 12 months.

All of Bellingham's suitors have the scope to fund a deal which is likely to exceed all others next summer, but all clubs have been made aware that wages are 'not important' to the Dortmund star, who is only concerned with making the right decision from a football perspective.

Bellingham is ready to move to the next level after chalking up 19 goals and 21 assists in his 112 appearances for Dortmund.

Speculation had grown over the past month that Liverpool were in the driving seat to land Bellingham. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is an avid admirer of the Birmingham City academy graduate and it is believed that Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold gave Anfield a glowing endorsement during England's World Cup campaign out in Qatar.

Paris Saint-Germain chief executive Nasser Al-Khelaifi confirmed that the French giants were the latest club to join the race for Bellingham during the tournament.

"What a player," Al-Khelaifi told Sky News when he was asked about Bellingham. "Honestly, England are lucky to have him... and he's one of the best players in the tournament. Amazing and you see his first World Cup - calm and relaxed and confident."

He then added: "Everyone wants him. I'm not going to hide it. But I respect he's in his club and, respect if we want to talk to him, we talk to the club first."
