Reach launches #Do1Thing campaign to encourage readers to help tackle climate change and save the planet

Media giant Reach is bringing together its network of websites and newspapers to encourage readers to #Do1Thing to help tackle the climate crisis.

The group - which owns brands from the Mirror to Wales Online and from the Manchester Evening News to BusinessLive - is asking all its readers to commit to making one small change to help tackle the climate emergency and save the world for future generations.

It follows a year in which the scale of the potential disaster facing the planet became ever more apparent.

The World Meteorological Organisation said 2019 had been one of the hottest on record, while Parliament declared a national climate emergency.

Greta Thunberg became a global heroine, while thousands of schoolchildren walked out of school and Extinction Rebellion held national protests.

Change needs to happen - and everyone can help to ensure 2020 is about "deeds not words".

That's why Reach's network is urging people to do one thing to make a difference.

You can read about Reach's campaign on all its sites - including here on the Liverpool Echo, with a list of 50 suggested things you can do make a difference .

And your change could even be as simple as using our online calculator to find out what your carbon footprint is.
