Bobat stated that Dayal’s absence is due to a “personal matter,” while emphasizing that the left-arm seamer continues to remain under contract with the franchise.
“He's going through a personal situation. He remains under contract,” Bobat said, refraining from sharing further details.
Dayal’s absence had already sparked speculation after he was missing from RCB’s official promotional material ahead of the new season. While the franchise has maintained a cautious stance, reports suggest that the situation may be linked to ongoing legal issues involving the cricketer.
According to reports, Dayal is currently facing allegations of sexual exploitation under the pretext of marriage in a case registered in Ghaziabad. In this matter, he has been granted protection from arrest by the Allahabad High Court.
In a separate case filed in Jaipur, reportedly involving a minor, the Rajasthan High Court has denied him relief from arrest, citing the seriousness of the allegations under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
As per the complaint lodged at the Sanganer Sadar police station, the minor alleged that she came into contact with the cricketer during an IPL match in Jaipur and was subsequently subjected to repeated abuse over a span of two years. The complaint also includes claims of emotional manipulation and false promises related to a cricketing career. These allegations are currently under legal investigation.
Following the emergence of the second case, Dayal was also barred from participating in the UP T20 League last year, where he had been signed by the Gorakhpur Lions for ₹7 lakh.
The 27-year-old had joined RCB ahead of the IPL 2024 season for ₹5 crore and played a key role in the franchise’s maiden title-winning campaign, picking up 13 wickets during the tournament.
