RB Leipzig manager Domenico Tedesco gives awed Rangers crowd verdict

Domenico Tedesco

Domenico Tedesco was frustrated to see his Leipzig side give away a goal with Rangers' first chance - but he admits the Ibrox crowd make winning in Govan difficult.

The Italian watched his side struggle throughout and he was furious with the manner they conceded a third when John Lundstram fired into an empty net when Ryan Kent's cross caused chaos.

Rangers were helped by the incredible Ibrox crowd who cheered and sang from the first minute to the last.

And Tedesco admits such an atmosphere "doesn't help" amid such a hard-fought battle.

He said: “I say well done to the stadium, it was the best I’ve ever seen.”

He added to Eurosport: "We are extremely disappointed.

"Rangers took the lead with the first chance.

"Of course, it doesn't necessarily help in front of a crowd like that.

"Whenever we tried to overplay the pressing in the first half we were completely lacking in physicality. "We hardly managed to tie the ball down.

"Every time we managed to do that and went forward, it became dangerous.

"We knew we'd come back in the second half. In our best phase of play, we got the third goal but we concede goals too easily.

"We've lost stability in the last few games and we have to regain it very quickly."
