RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann has lifted the lid on the talks he's held with Manchester United transfer target Erling Haaland.
The RB Salzburg forward is among the most sought-after players in Europe, thanks to his record of more than a goal per game this season.
Haaland, who worked under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during their time together at Norwegian club Molde, was watched by United's head of global scouting Marcel Bout when playing against Liverpool in the Champions League last week.
It is understood Solskjaer has also communicated with Haaland's representatives in recent days as United attempt to clinch a deal.
Leipzig, Salzburg's sister club, are among the other clubs interested in the 19-year-old, with Nageslmann explaining how the talks went down. Borussia Dortmund are also reportedly keen on a deal.
"I tried to explain to him in good English what my idea of football was," Nagelsmann told German media outlet Kicker.
"I think it went quite well. After such talks you can say relatively little because they are usually very one-sided. You tell a lot as a coach, the consultant and the player listen."
Nagelsmann was then asked whether Leipzig could pip Dortmund and other potential suitors — like United — for Haaland's signature and replied: "You have to ask him."
As well as Haaland, MEN Sport understands United are interested in Leicester City playmaker James Maddison and Dortmund's English wide man Jadon Sancho, among other transfer targets.
