A man has been arrested at Raymond Terrace as part of an investigation into the alleged extortion of a shop owner in Sydney, which has also resulted in charges against three outlaw motorcycle gang members.
Police arrested three Sydney men - alleged to be senior Finks bikies - after searches at Chatswood, North Richmond, North St Marys, Tregear, Bidwell, Riverstone and Raymond Terrace on Wednesday. Those three men have been charged with a range of counts.
It came after investigators were told that a 25-year-old Riverstone man had been loaned $11,500 cash by a 45-year-old shopkeeper in Sydney's north-west in exchange for jewellery, a motorcycle and a boat earlier this year.
Police allege three men then attended the 45-year-old's shop in April and allegedly threatened him, demanding the loaned items be given to them - but the shopkeeper refused.
During the raids on Wednesday, police attached to Strike Force Raptor - the state's specialist squad combatting outlaw motorcycle gang-related crime - seized knuckledusters, two firearms, a motorcycle engine, electronic devices, OMCG clothing and a small amount of cannabis and steroids.
Following the search at Raymond Terrace, a 23-year-old man was charged with handling an explosive/precursor without a licence, possessing an unauthorised pistol and possessing a prohibited weapon without a permit.
The 23-year-old was granted strict conditional bail and will face Raymond Terrace Local Court on June 21, police said.
