Ravens QB coach James Urban discusses ‘zip’ on throws from QB Lamar Jackson

The Baltimore Ravens will be looking to bounce back after an 8-9 season in 2021 in which they went through a six-game losing streak to end the year. They missed the playoffs for the first time since 2017, with many key factors going into their struggles, including injuries.

One of the players they missed over the back half of the season was quarterback Lamar Jackson, who suffered a bone bruise in his ankle in Week 14 against the Cleveland Browns. When discussing some of the “zip” on Jackson’s throws during mandatory minicamp, quarterback coach James Urban said that he was impressed with the fifth-year signal caller.

“Good question. The fundamentals look really good right now. He’s been impressive these three days. He’s clearly been throwing; he’s clearly been working. The strength sure doesn’t hurt that. The velocity, the tight spirals, those things, they look good.”
