Ravens highlights: Marcus Peters intercepts Bengals QB Brandon Allen in the end zone

Boy has the Baltimore Ravens’ defense missed cornerback Marcus Peters. Over the last two weeks while Peters was out with an injury, Baltimore’s pass defense has had some big lapses against underwhelming competition. But with their playoff hopes on the line and Peters back on the field, the Ravens put together a show of force against the Cincinnati Bengals.

As Cincinnati was driving late in the third quarter, it seemed like they were going to score their first touchdown of the game. After a pass interference penalty on Peters the previous play, the veteran cornerback swooped in for the big interception. Bengals quarterback Brandon Allen was being chased backwards on the play by Baltimore’s pass rush, causing him to throw an ill-advised floater into the end zone. Peters, playing the underneath on the route fielded the ball like a punt returner.

With the Ravens firing on all cylinders offensively, the defense did their job to shut down Cincinnati’s offense. Hopefully that level of play carries over next week as the NFL playoffs begin.
