Ravens HC John Harbaugh reveals what he told WR Marquise Brown after crucial drops

The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Detroit Lions by the final score of 19-17 in a wild win that saw Baltimore kicker Justin Tucker drill a 66-yard field goal as time expired to set a new NFL record.

Part of the reason that the game was decided on a late Tucker kick was the fact that Ravens wide receiver Marquise Brown had what could have been three touchdowns glance off of his hands. On the first play the ball was slightly tipped by a defender, but still hit Brown in the hands. On the other two the third-year wideout just dropped the passes, getting in his own head. After the game, Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh revealed what he said to Brown after his crucial drops.

“I told him, ‘You’re writing the rest of this story, nobody else is. When you’re looking back on your career and you’ve had the great career that you’re going to have, this is going to be part of the story. This is going to be part of your testimony. You’re going to be able to talk to people about what you went through and what you overcame here. So, let’s go to work on that starting Wednesday.”

Brown had a scorching start to the 2021 season over his first two contests, but cooled off a bit because of his inability to haul in a few passes. The former University of Oklahoma star has struggled with drops a bit in the past, but many are confident that he can put his struggles in Week 3 behind him and continue to have a true breakout season over the rest of the year.
