Ravens ‘have their eye’ on Rashod Bateman, Terrace Marshall Jr.

The Baltimore Ravens have been taking a hard look at the wide receiver position during the offseason. After signing Sammy Watkins to a one-year deal, it seems the team isn’t done adding pass catchers, as during Baltimore’s pre-draft press conference, Ravens director of player personnel Joe Hortiz said that the team “has their eye” on Rashod Bateman and Terrace Marshall Jr., two of the top prospects in the 2021 draft class.

Selecting Bateman or Marshall would provide the team with an immediate threat on the outside who can also move into the slot. As Hortiz notes, both players are extremely versatile and can be lined up all over the field.

At this point, it seems like Marshall is the more realistic option for Baltimore, as Bateman is widely being mocked to teams who hold picks before the Ravens, who select at No. 27 overall. There’s no guarantee that Marshall is available either, as there could be a mini-run on receivers right around where Baltimore is slated to pick.

The Ravens feel confident in the young wide receivers on their roster already and are seemingly ecstatic to have Watkins. However, they do still need another outside presence, and both Bateman and Marshall can give them that with their size, speed, and athleticism.
