Baltimore Ravens defensive back Earl Thomas spoke out on Instagram about a TMZ report regarding an alleged domestic dispute with his wife, Nina, in mid-April.
Thomas, who turns 31 on Thursday, posted a video on his Instagram account Wednesday night saying he had been alerted to the fact TMZ was going to be releasing a report.
His comments began with: “I guess I’ll be on TMZ in the morning somehow they got a police report with details … Obviously, this is not how I wanted my birthday breakfast to start, out or my birthday, but it is what it is…”

The alleged incident — and TMZ says it has court documents — took place in Austin, Tx, at 3:41 a.m. on April 13.
Earl Thomas was not arrested. However, his wife, Nina, was booked for burglary of a residence with intent to commit aggravated assault with a deadly weapon — family violence, and later bonded out.
“Instead of talking about us, just keep us in y’all prayers,” Thomas said in his Instagram video. “Stuff like this happens. We try to live the best lives we possibly can. Sometimes it doesn’t go as planned.”
