Raúl will play for Real Madrid again in June, when Ajax visit the Bernabéu for a match in honour of the late Johan Cruyff.
The former Spain striker, who left Real in 2010 as the club’s all-time leading scorer with 323 goals – Cristiano Ronaldo has since surpassed his record – will pull on the famous white shirt in the Corazón Classic charity game.
Roberto Carlos, Fernando Hierro, Luís Figo, Patrick Kluivert, Clarence Seedorf and Edgar Davids will also feature in the match on 5 June.
Raúl’s last appearance at the Bernabéu was three years ago, when his Qatari side al-Saad visited for a friendly and he turned out for both teams.
Raúl’s agent, Ginés Carvajal, told the Spanish newspaper AS that the 38-year-old’s presence was 95% assured, with commitments in his role as a La Liga ambassador in the US unlikely to be a problem.
Raúl retired in November after winning the NASL final with New York Cosmos.
Carvajal has denied suggestions that the Real Madrid legend has been lined up as the club’s next manager after Zinedine Zidane.
