Cleveland Browns wideout Rashard Higgins earned a prominent spot on Bleacher Report’s list of the top pending free agents who are age 25 or younger.
“Hollywood” is a restricted free agent, meaning the Browns have the right to match any offer or get tendered compensation. The 24-year-old just finished his third, and most prolific season, with Cleveland. His catch rate and positive career arc impressed,
“Higgins has good speed and showed reliable hands last season with a 73.6 percent catch rate. Of his 39 catches, 27 went for first downs.”
Then the commentary gets a little more pointed and real…
“Barring an injury to a player ahead of him on the depth chart, he’s unlikely to see an expanded role in Cleveland. A change of scenery and more looks in the passing game would help him emerge as an ascending talent.”
It will be interesting to see how much another team values Higgins and if it will be worthwhile for the Browns to let him leave for another offer.
