Rapper Aitch leaks Man Utd's new home shirt while performing at Glastonbury

Manchester United's new home shirt has leaked thanks to rapper Aitch donning it at Glastonbury.

The Red Devils aren't due to release their 2023-24 kit until next Tuesday, but the Mancunian rapper - full name Harrison James Armstrong - gave fans a full preview of the shirt while performing at the music festival on Saturday afternoon. A boyhood United supporter, Aitch strutted onto the famous Pyramid Stage wearing what Erik ten Hag's men will don for the majority of next season.

In classic crimson red, the most notable design feature of the shirt is the pattern of Lancashire roses sprawling across it. They serve as a backdrop to the Red Devils' club crest, principal sponsor Team Viewer and the Adidas logo, which for the first time since the sports brand's partnership with United doesn't include any text, but rather just the symbol.

The shirt also has a black trim on the V-neck collar and sleeves, with Adidas' iconic three stripes in their usual position. Aitch personalised his shirt with 'Big Shell 40' printed on the back, a nod to one of his lyrics.

His performance, which came on the second day of the Somerset festival, isn't the first time that the Red Devils' 23-24 shirt has been leaked, as in May promotional images surfaced online. The likes of Marcus Rashford, Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw were all spotted posing in their new attire.

Aitch has now become part of the launch campaign - although perhaps not intentionally. The 23-year-old is most definitely a United fan and was quoted as saying by manutd.com in December 2021: "The Reds have been a fabric of my DNA from the earliest memory of football, the winning mentality we developed under Sir Alex Ferguson was mesmerising. There was only one team to support."

The Moston-born musician is also friends with a number of current and former Red Devils stars. Alongside record label boss Adex, he revealed: "We are quite close to Scotty [McTominay], Lingz [Jesse Lingard] and Rashy. Also some of the youth team players like D'mani Mellor."

Aitch certainly got the crowd going at Glastonbury and will hope to see United's players doing the same at Old Trafford next season while wearing their new shirt. Ten Hag and co begin their Premier League campaign at home to Wolves on Monday, August 14.

The Red Devils are yet to make any new signings but transfers targets include England captain Harry Kane, Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount and Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana. Declan Rice is also a target but United are behind both Manchester City and Arsenal in the race to sign him.
