Raphael Varane's role at Manchester United has been explained by Gabby Agbonlahor, who thinks that the Red Devils now have the best defence in the Premier League.
Varane joined United earlier this month for £41m after months of speculation that he was set to leave Real Madrid.
The France international is a World Cup champion and a four-time Champions League winner, making him arguably one of the most decorated players the club has seen since the Sir Alex Ferguson days.
Varane has been in full training for several days now, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitting he has been impressed so far.

And with the 28-year-old in line to become a regular starter at the back alongside skipper Harry Maguire, former Aston Villa striker Agbonlahor has revealed what he thinks Varane's role will be.
He told talkSPORT : “If he starts, I think they have the best defence in the league. Luke Shaw, Varane, Maguire and [Aaron] Wan-Bissaka are the best defence in the league.
“That’s what they’ve been crying out for in games.

“Lindelof has been okay, but has a mistake in him. Varane doesn’t have a mistake in him. He’s no nonsense.
“Maguire is the one who will play out with it, run out with the ball and who better than Varane, one of the quickest centre-halves in the league now, just back there saying ‘go on Maguire you go out there, if you lose it, I’m back here with Wan-Bissaka to tidy up for you’.
“I’m excited to see him, I hope he plays.”

Having played alongside Sergio Ramos for so many years at Real Madrid, Varane has become one of the best centre-halves in the world.
And Solskjaer appears to be confident that he can lead them to silverware in the near future.
"He certainly has all the credentials and quality to do that [win trophies]," Solskjaer told Sky Sports. "He's impressed me since he's come here.
"He wants to learn about our style of play. He works hard, he wants to get his fitness up.
"It's been a while since he played in the Euros. He's very meticulous, he's such a top professional.
"You can see his honours, his trophies - but you also look at him and what he's done off the pitch.
"There's not a lot of trouble there, so for a manager I'm very impressed by him."
