Ranking college football coaches with the most national championship wins: 2023 edition

College football has a long and storied history and so do the coaches at the helms of its programs.

Only one team can be crowned college football’s national champion by season’s end, with the head coach claiming victory and preserving their name in history for all-time. Very soon, we’ll have an expanded 12-team playoff to determine the best of the best in college football after Georgia went back-to-back over the last two years.

But given how deep the history of college football is, there’s been more than a few repeat head coach winners. Whether they stayed and won at one school or jumped around across their careers, here are the top college football coaches ranked by number of national championship wins.
