Rangers will 'write to SFA' over Alfredo Morelos no goal as Ibrox chiefs look for Celtic flashpoint explainer

Rangers will reportedly write to the SFA to seek an explanation over why Alfredo Morelos goal was chalked off against Celtic.

The Colombian had the ball in the net after beating Alistair Johnston to the ball in the box from Borna Barisic's cross, but referee Kevin Clancy quickly blew the whistle for a foul on the Celtic defender before the ball nestled beyond Joe Hart. In the VAR room Nick Walsh opted against sending Clancy to the monitor to review the incident, which took place before Kyogo had opened the scoring at Celtic Park.

Sky Sports now claim Rangers will write to the SFA for an explanation over the incident. Speaking post match, boss Michael Beale highlighted Morelos' disallowed goal as well as a perceived handball from Jota in the build up to Celtic's second goal as flashpoints. He said: “I’m disappointed with one or two decisions from the officials, the VAR officials, and not Kevin on the pitch. If you look at the goal disallowed for Alfredo Morelos and look at the number on the back of his shirt?

"Why is their guy not trying to play the ball? Only Alfredo is trying to play the ball. They’ve both got a hold of each other but Alfredo’s number is twisted around the back. I think it’s a goal. It’s a soft one."
