Rangers vs Celtic Scottish Cup tie set for later afternoon kick-off as date and time revealed

The Scottish Cup fourth round clash between Rangers and Celtic will take place on Saturday April 17.

And it will kick-off at 4pm and be shown live on Premier Sports.

It's the first time the broadcaster will show a game between the two sides and it's been handed a later kick-off than often expected for it.

Normally games between the bitter rivals take place at lunch time but the broadcaster has selected the match as one of their two picks and it will kick-off at 4pm.

The game at Ibrox will be the first time since 2011 that the two sides have met at this stage of the Scottish Cup.

That was the infamous 'shame game' when three Rangers players were sent-off in an ill-tempered replay at Celtic Park.

The initial game at Ibrox had ended in a 2-2 draw with Celtic having Fraser Forster sent off and Rangers also going down to 10 men when Steven Naismith was shown a red card.

Rangers have never managed to beat Celtic in a last 16 tie of the Scottish Cup in the five attempts in this round.

Steven Gerrard's men will play host to their rivals, who could have Eddie Howe in charge if an appointment is made soon.

The former Bournemouth boss is favourite for the job, but could delay taking over until the summer.
