Rangers v Celtic Scottish Cup clash moved as Prince Philip funeral forces new kick-off

The Scottish Cup tie between Rangers and Celtic has been moved to Sunday with a 3pm kick-off.

The match was due to take place at 4pm on Saturday but the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, at 3pm that day means it had to be changed.

And now a deal has been struck with Premier Sports, the SFA and the police to move the game to a slightly earlier kick-off on Sunday.

The game will still be shown live on Premier Sports and has to be played to a finish, so extra time and penalty kicks are in place should they be needed.

It's the first time since 2011 that Rangers and Celtic have met at this stage of the competition, and the Ibrox side have never beaten their rivals in the last 16 of the Scottish Cup.

They've met each other five teams at this stage and the last one resulted in the infamous 'shame game' at Celtic Park when three Rangers players were sent off.

There was also an incident involving Neil Lennon and Ally McCoist.

Steven Gerrard's men haven't won the Scottish Cup in more than a decade, with their last win coming in the 2009 edition when a Nacho Novo goal was the difference against Falkirk.

Celtic are looking to win their fifth Scottish Cup in a row, having won the last final in December against Hearts.
