Rangers stars reportedly missed former teammate Jermain Defoe’s wedding earlier this month.
The 39-year-old England striker tied the knot to Scots beautician Donna Tierney during an extravagant ceremony at Cliveden House in Berkshire.
While many of the Ibrox star’s closest friends and family were in attendance, all of his ex-Rangers teammates were said to be absent from the occasion.
The Sun reports many were unable to attend due to booked holidays, while others were on international duty.
A source told the newspaper that some had already scheduled trips to the likes of Ibiza and Dubai as part of their end of season celebrations.
Defoe’s closest pals at Rangers, Joe Aribo and Glen Kamara, were representing their countries at the time of the wedding.
Two members of admin staff were said to be the only Rangers representatives at the lavish event.
The source said: “He made a lot of good pals at Rangers but the timing wasn’t good. As soon as the season is done all the players go away on holiday.
“You had some guys in Dubai and other in Ibiza. Other international players still hadn’t finished their seasons so couldn’t go.
“The only two folk from Rangers who went were the players’ PA and a receptionist.”
Jermain Defoe got down on one knee and popped the question to Donna Tierney in August last year.
Ex-footballer Defoe wowed fans when he shared details of the romantic moment, which took place at a £2,500-a-night luxury penthouse suite at Glasgow’s Blythswood Square Hotel.
The pair were surrounded by lights, balloons, rose petals and a huge ‘Marry Me’ sign as he presented a huge diamond ring believed to be worth tens of thousands of pounds.
