Rangers are set to open fresh contract talks with highly rated goalkeeper Rydnn McGuire as they aim to secure his long-term future at Ibrox.
The 17-year-old was named on the bench for the final two matches of last season and featured regularly in travelling matchday squads throughout the campaign. McGuire has trained consistently with the first team since October and has been involved in squads since just 16.
The Rangers Review has reported that discussions are due to begin between the club and the player’s representatives, with Ibrox chiefs keen to fend off long-standing interest from several Premier League sides. McGuire’s current deal expires next summer, having signed his first professional contract in January 2025.

A Scotland Under-19 international, McGuire has routinely played above his age level and is noted for his composure in possession as well as his imposing 6ft 5in frame. He also made history last season by becoming the first goalkeeper to win the club’s academy player of the year award.
McGuire travelled to Spain for the club’s pre-split training camp alongside Ashton Scally, another recent academy graduate, after impressing former head coach Danny Rohl during his time in charge.
With Kieran Wright having departed at the end of last season, McGuire will report for pre-season determined to catch the eye of manager Derek McInnes and push his case for further first-team involvement.
