Rangers player ratings in crucial Europa League win over Real Betis

Jack Butland 7

Smart stops at crucial moments from Carvalho, Bellerin and Roca as Betis threatened with attacking onslaught. Left little chance to stop Miranda and Perez finishes. Saved by crossbar twice.

James Tavernier 6

Looked like it would be a long night for the Ibrox captain as Betis found real joy down the left flank. Wasn't helped as he was often outnumbered by opposition but held his own. Limited in attacking output. Booked.

Connor Goldson 7

Typical defensive performance from the everpresent centre-back. Largely comfortable but a few scares thrown in. Stood up when he really needed to and put his body on the line. Crossed well for Roofe winner.

Ben Davies 6

Returned to the starting line up to make Rangers' strongest defensive pairing. Up for the challenge and was steady throughout. Didn't hide as Betis mounted pressure.

Borna Barisic 6

A non-stop evening as he faced up endless attacks at points to help his side to a historic triumph. Similarly limited as Tavernier in his actions going forward as Rangers held out to top the group.

John Lundstram 8

A standout under Philippe Clement. Did the dirty work in the centre of midfield and was involved in absolutely everything. Deserved to be on the winning side for a real impressive display. Booked.

Jose Cifuentes 6

Not his best evening but didn't do too much wrong. Left watching Betis as the Spaniards popped the ball around him at times but played a huge role in Dessers strike with cutting through ball.

Ross McCausland 7

Incisive running and a relentless desire to play forward helped team massively. Crafted opener with surging run and pass into box. Caught out as he lost his man for Betis leveller. Raw but a huge talent.

Sam Lammers 6

Throw himself about and looked seriously locked in from the first whistle. Still lacking a little bit of a clinical edge at the top end of the pitch but more than played his part in Seville.

Abdallah Sima 6

Enjoying another goalscoring run for Rangers. Started the night in the best possible way with curling finish into bottom corner. Full of energy all night but drifted out of proceedings in latter stages.

Cyriel Dessers 7

Oftern criticised for his profligacy in front of goal but anything but the case in Seville. Inadvertently teed up Sima opener and then produced stunning wonder goal as he danced through defence before slotting home.

Dujon Sterling (for Cifuentes, 45) 6

Drafted into midfield amid ongoing injury crisis. Guided through game by Lundstram and looked steady in unusual position.

Kemar Roofe (for Dessers, 65) 7

A welcome return from injury and delivered the goods. On hand to fire home from close range with a true goalscorer's finish. Booked.

Rabbi Matondo (for McCausland, 65) 4

Added energy and threatened on occasion with pace in behind.
