Rangers player ratings as Alfredo Morelos shines on the Euro stage again

It was billed as a night where Rangers might spend a lot of time with their backs to the walls.

Instead, Steven Gerrard's men rolled up their sleeves and wrote their own script.

Goals from Alfredo Morelos, Joe Aribo, Nikola Katic and Scott Arfield gave Rangers the win they throughly deserved.

Not even a 10 minute crazy spell when Rangers conceded two could take the shine off it and there wasn't a player on the park who didn't perform brilliantly.

The Danes had little answer to how Rangers played and couldn't complain with the result with the away side holding the advantage in the Europa League.

But how did the Ibrox side rate? Gary Ralston runs the rule over the players used in this brilliant win.

Allan McGregor - The keeper was helpless at Danish goals, but made a couple of stops in each hlaf on stage he loves best. 7

James Tavernier - Stunning assist for the opener was symbolic of his drive down the right hand side to provide attacking edge. 8

Connor Goldson - He revelled in the physicality of an encounter against a frontline as brawny as any he’ll face this season. 7

Nikola Katic - He stood tall to quell the set piece threat of Midtjylland and proved his own worth at corners with the third. 7

Jon Flanagan - His first game of the season and steady enough, although skinned too easily at the Danish first. 6

Glen Kamara - Careful never to commit too far up the field and mindful of the counter, he showed excellent positional discipline. 7

(Rangers/PA)

Ryan Jack - He became a growing influence on the game as he started to pick the passes in forward area for his side to prosper. 8

Joe Aribo - He did his defensive duties well and pushed forward on the left when it mattered to score that super goal. 7

Scott Arfield - He worked doggedly to establish a high press and was rewarded with that stunning and crucial fourth goal. 7

Alfredo Morelos - The goal epitomised his performance as he showed hunger, desire and determination throughout against three defenders. 9

Jordan Jones   - It didn’t always come off for him first half, but he played a crucial role on the counter after the break. 7
