Rangers midfielder 'a target for Hamilton Accies'

Hamilton Accies Rangers Josh McPake Queen Park

Hamilton Accies are interested in signing Rangers winger Josh McPake, according to a report.

The 21-year-old, who hails from Coatbridge, is currently with the Rangers squad for pre-season after his loan spell at Championship side Queen's Park expired at the end of the season.

He still has a year left on his contract with the Ibrox club but Football Insider claim although Rangers are keen to get him off the wage bill, most club can't afford McPake's salary and a loan will be the best option.

And it is being reported Hamilton Accies or their League One rivals Alloa Athletic could be his next destination.

McPake made 33 appearances for Queen’s Park as they missed out on promotion to the Premiership last season, where alleged discipline issues affected his spell at the club.
