Rangers Malik Tillman transfer windfall boost with EPL 'bidding war' for Bayern Munich man

Rangers are set to bank more than seven figures from Malik Tillman as he closes in on a move to the English Premier League, according to a report.

The USA international spent the season on loan at Ibrox last term with an exclusive option to make the deal permanent agreed as part of the original offer at the time. Michael Beale had hoped to retain his services using the option but the Bundesliga giants bought that back with the Light Blues to receive over £1million plus a cut of his next sale as compensation.

The Daily Record report that both Brentford and Brighton are set to battle it out to capture the 21-year-old. The Seagulls can offer Europa League football next season after a stunning campaign under Roberto de Zerbi. He's already lost Alexis Mac Allister to Liverpool with Moises Caicedo expected to follow him out the door this summer.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst originally brought the 21-year-old to Ibrox before he was axed but he made a huge impression on current boss Beale. Last campaign he netted 12 goals and provided five assits including picking up valuable Champions League experience against Liverpool, Napoli and Ajax in the group stage while he also played a key role in the qualifying route to Europe's top table - a similar process facing Gers in the coming weeks.

Beale has been busy in the transfer market to date as part of his Ibrox overhaul with five new faces already in the door. Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling, Jack Butland, Sam Lammers and Abdallah Sima are all signed up for the campaign ahead.

Cyriel Dessers is set to be the next name arrving in the coming days after Rangers and Cremonese agreed a fee over the transfer of the hitman. They had a bid booted out for Feyenoord's Danilo but the Daily Record state Dessers was always the top target.

Rangers will kick off their Scottish Premiership campaign away at Kilmarnock in front of the Sky Sports cameras with the first showdown against Celtic and Brendan Rodgers coming from Ibrox on Sunday, September 3.
