Rangers 'looking for Alfredo Morelos transfer replacement' as Ibrox club draw up five-man contingency hit-list

Rangers are reportedly scouting out replacements for Alfredo Morelos, as they resign themselves to losing him in the summer.

El Bufalo had 29 goals in all competitions before football was shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It's not clear when the season will restart or when the transfer window will open, but Goal 's Spanish outlet reports that Rangers are already on the hunt for a replacement for Morelos.

They speculate that it would take around €15million (£13.21million) to prize him from Ibrox, with interest from across the continent.

Sevilla and Atletico Madrid are believed to be keen, as well as Newcastle, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Leicester City in England.

Italian giants Inter are also said to be interested in signing Morelos.

With interest of that level, the website reports that Rangers are increasingly resigned to losing their star man and are actively looking for a replacement.

Dundee United striker Lawrence Shankland is said to be on the list, as well as former Sunderland striker Josh Maja, currently at Bordeaux.

In total there are five names in the frame, with Rhian Brewster of Swansea, Sint-Truiden's Mohamed Buya Turay, and Clermont striker Adrian Grbic also being considered.
