Rangers 'join race' to sign highly-rated Arsenal goalkeeper

Rangers have reportedly joined the race to sign Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein.

It's no secret that Rangers are looking to strengthen that area of the squad, with Russell Martin keen to recruit competition for both Jack Butland and Liam Kelly.

Hein, 23, spent last season out on loan in Spain with Real Valladolid.

The highly-rated Arsenal keeper was unable to help prevent the side from La Liga relegation.

He already has 39 caps for Estonia after establishing himself as No.1 for his country.

Rangers were linked with a move for Brighton's Carl Rushworth earlier in the window.

However, that move quickly quietened down, with the keeper bound for a loan at Swansea City instead.

Now, Fussball Transfers reporter Dominik Schneider claims Rangers are interested in Hein.

It's said that Sevilla are also keen on the youngster.

Schneider wrote: "Rangers have joined the race for Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein (23), who spent last season on loan at #RealValladolid. #SevillaFC are also in the mix."

Hein is said to be in favour of another loan move away from Arsenal after they signed Kepa Arrizabalaga as back-up to David Raya.
