Rangers fans face eye watering Europa League final ticket prices as bumped up briefs emerge on black market

Gold dust Europa League Final tickets are being sold for up to £2500 on resale sites just 24 hours after UEFA held a ballot.

Many Rangers fans applied for briefs for the Seville showpiece on May 18 in the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.

They showed interest in anticipation of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men overturning a 1-0 first leg deficit from their semi-final against RB Leipzig.

Plenty took to social media to share their joy at landing tickets for the final of UEFA’s second tier competition in southern Spain.

However, for many who missed out their disappointment was compounded by the astronomical prices advertised on one secondary ticket site.

Website ticketing.co is advertising its cheapest Category 4 ticket - face value 40 euros - for a staggering £1298.

And that price rises to £2500 for Category 1 with batches of up to TEN tickets together for all four price categories.

One supporter hit out, saying: “For a start, it’s crazy that so many tickets are available before both finalists are known.

“But for them to appear at the kind of prices being advertised is just shocking really. More tickets should be kept for both competing clubs so they don’t fall into the wrong hands which results in real fans being ripped off.

“If Rangers reach the final then supporters are going to be forced to pay ridiculous prices to see their team in one of the biggest games in their history.”
