Rangers fans are 'deluded' on Celtic title achievement says Leigh Griffiths

Leigh Griffiths has defended Celtic against accusations that their ninth successive title was 'tainted'.

Rangers fans have frequently claimed that there will be an asterisk next to Celtic's title in the history books, but the striker has called those claims "deluded".

Speaking on Clyde Superscoreboard, the 29-year-old insisted Celtic fully deserved the Premiership title and called 2020/21 the most important in their history.

Griffiths said: "We've done nothing illegal.

"We played our football as well as we could and we were 13 points clear and looked like we were going to extend that.

"For us to be champions it was fully deserved and anybody that says otherwise, they're deluded."

With 10-in-a-row achievable, Griffiths was asked how big the upcoming season is.

He replied: "It's the biggest in the club's history as well.

"It's one of those ones where you go on, you wi n 10, you're down in the history books again for us.

"There's going to be a lot of pressure on us. Teams will be wanting to come and stop us but it's up to us what we do, and if we bring our A game to 90-95% of the games we won't be far away."
