Rangers fan group furious over Napoli lockout with European supporters' body urged to step in

Rangers fans fume over Napoli away lockout as group takes issue to European supporters body

A RANGERS fan group has been left fuming at the decision to lock away supporters out of the club's Champions League game against Napoli next month.

On Sunday, UEFA announced that no Gers supporters would be permitted to be in attendance inside the Diego Armando Maradona for the game on October 26.

The call was made in the interests of sporting integrity following the tough call not to allow any Napoli fans into Ibrox for this week's group clash due to the lack of police resources surrounding the mourning events of Queen Elizabeth II.

However, Broomloan Collective are furious with European football's governing body.

The group have raised the issue with Football Supporters Europe (FSE) in the hope of getting the decision overturned by UEFA.

A statement released by the group reads: “Broomloan Collective, like other fans and groups at Rangers, are extremely disappointed with the decision to shut out away fans from both legs of our Champions League fixture with Napoli.

"Yet again, the disdain and contempt shown to travelling Rangers’ fans after booking travel arrangements to get to Naples for the return fixture next month highlights just how little those who made the decision understand the value of our fanbases loyalty.

“Broomloan Collective have now contacted Football Supporters Europe (FSE) regarding this. FSE were pivotal in the away fans ban for Lyon being overturned last season.

"We hope they can again assist with finding a way forward which can ensure Rangers fans travelling can attend and watch the game.”
