Rangers branded 'petty' in latest sponsorship row as white tape covers cinch logo during post match interviews

PundIt Tam McManus has called out Rangers after tape appeared to cover the cinch logo following their win over Motherwell.

Following the 3-1 win victory over the Steelmen at Fir Park manager Gio van Bronckhorst and Scott Wright were both interviewed by Sky Sports.

The advertising board that the Rangers pair were interviewed in front of saw the cinch name covered by white tape.

Motherwell boss Graham Alexander was interviewed in front of the same board but the logo was visible.

It's the latest public move from Rangers against the Scottish Premiership 's sponsor.

Rangers have refused to wear cinch logos on their shirt sleeves and it is absent from the advertising boards at Ibrox while previous interviews have taken place in front of blank backgrounds.

Club chiefs believe they are within their rights to not promote the company due to a conflict of interest with chairman Douglas Park’s business Park's of Hamilton.

However, McManus reckons it isn't a good look for Scottish football as a whole.

Speaking on the PLZ Football Show, he said: “It’s just petty and it’s not a good look for people down south seeing that.

“Tape, white tape, over a sponsor. It’s totally amateur.”
