Rangers have reportedly seen their offer for Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Pierce Charles ignored.
Despite Jack Butland's strong start to the season, Russell Martin is keen to add more depth in that department, with Liam Kelly the only other experienced player available.
Charles, 20, has been on the radar after impressing during his brief appearances for the Owls and eight caps for Northern Ireland.
He is highly-rated and was even tipped for the very top by former Rangers star Josh Windass on a recent podcast.

Cash-strapped Wednesday could do with some funds and already sanctioned a £2.2 million move to Ibrox for winger Djeidi Gassama.
However, the Telegraph's Mike McGrath is reporting the Championship side have ignored Rangers' offer of £1m plus add-ons, doing the same with West Ham's bid.
It is claimed neither interested club has heard back from the Owls and so the deals are off.
Rangers are also believed to be considering a loan deal for Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein as they look to strengthen between the sticks.
