Rangers and Celtic land TV dates as Kilmarnock's Scottish Cup clash snubbed

Kilmarnock's trip to Aberdeen in the William Hill Scottish Cup has been snubbed by television chiefs today.

BBC will screen Arbroath or Falkirk's tie at home to Hearts and BSC Glasgow v Dundee United or Hibernian.

Premier Sports has once again chosen the two Old Firm sides as they will show Hamilton Accies v Rangers and Clyde v Celtic.

Aberdeen v Kilmarnock was in line to be televised but telly bosses opted against putting the Granite City clash in the live TV spotlight.

The showdown at Pittodrie will take place on Saturday, February 8 at 3pm, less than a month before the Dons head down to Rugby Park for a Wednesday night Premiership date.

The news will come as a disappointment to Kilmarnock who would have gained cash from being screened live on TV.

It will be the second time in three years the side have met in the competition, with Aberdeen coming out on top via penalties in a quarter-final replay at Rugby Park in 2018.
