The Los Angeles Rams showed interest in Jachai Polite leading up to the 2019 NFL draft, meeting with him and hosting him for an official visit. They didn’t select him in the draft, but on Wednesday, they added him to the practice squad.
The team announced the move, which comes after he was released from the Seahawks’ practice squad.
The Jets took a chance on Polite in the third round, but he was surprisingly cut before the regular season began. The Seahawks scooped him up, but he didn’t work out in Seattle, either.
Polite entered the NFL with questions about his work ethic and character. His combine interviews were reportedly poor, though he did say the Rams were his favorite meeting. There always seemed to be a connection between the two sides.
Keeping him on the practice squad is beneficial for the Rams as he can develop under Wade Phillips’ tutelage while not taking up a roster spot.
