Rams lose WR Cooper Kupp to COVID-19 reserve

The Los Angeles Rams will be without quarterback Jared Goff in Week 17 against the Arizona Cardinals. They will be without running back Darrell Henderson. Both are injured. Running back Cam Akers might not be able to play.

It now appears they will be without leading receiver Cooper Kupp.

According to multiple reports, and it will show up on Tuesdays’ NFL transaction report, Kupp has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

If Kupp is on the list for close contact with someone who tested positive, he must remain on the list for at least five days from the contact. The earliest he could come off the list is Sunday morning if all his tests come back negative.

The Cardinals and Rams play Sunday afternoon. Of course, Kupp will not be able to practice at all this week as a result.

He leads the Rams with 92 receptions for 974 yards and has three touchdown catches. He had eight receptions for 73 yards in the Rams’ 38-28 win over the Cardinals in Week 13.

Assuming Kupp will also miss Sunday’s game, there is going to be no excuse for the Cardinals to come away with a win and make the postseason. If they do not, it will be one of the most disappointing finishes in several years.
