Rajon Rondo (back) probable to play for Lakers vs. Rockets in Game 1

The return of Playoff Rondo is near. According to the latest injury report from the NBA, the Los Angeles Lakers veteran guard is probable to play after returning from surgery on his hand as well as a bout with back spasms that kept him from returning in the first round against the Trail Blazers.

Rondo has not played at all in the bubble and hasn’t appeared in any game since March 10, just before the season went on hiatus due to the coronavirus outbreak. Rondo has been a polarizing player for Lakers fans over his two years on the team, but his experience of playing in high level playoff games over his career will be a crucial addition to this series against Houston.

The Lakers two stars, LeBron James and Anthony Davis, should be able to dominate on the interior. However, having someone like Rondo who is able to set them up, will be crucial to allowing them to do what they need to do against the Rockets, which is make them pay for the lack of size they have on the court.
