KOTA: Police arrested three persons, including a woman, for allegedly kidnapping and blackmailing a 37-year-old man in Vigyan Nagar police station area and produced them before a court on Tuesday. The court sent the woman to jail and to handed over two others to police on remand.
“Following a complaint by Vivek Choudhary, a resident of an apartment in Anantpura area on Monday, we arrested Jyoti Choudhary (25), Mohammed Shadab (20) and Saif Ali (22), all residents of the city,” said SP Kesar Singh. Three other accused, identified as Adil, Mota and Aman, are yet to be nabbed, the police officer added.
The complainant said Jyoti lived in the same apartment and around 10 days ago requested to meet him, but he refused saying he was in Jaipur. While he was on the way to Kota on Sunday, Jyoti allegedly called him again and asked him to meet her, following which he took her to his flat by a car.
The complainant alleged he found three other youths with Jyoti in his room when he came out of bathroom on Sunday night. They forcefully removed his clothes, clicked objectionable pictures and videos with the woman and demanded Rs 10 lakh with the threat to frame a rape case against him and to make the photos and videos viral, the SP said.
Later, the accused took the man in a car and holding him captive for 4 hours drove through the city roads till the vehicle collided against a road divider in Vigyan Nagar area, the SP added. The accused fled from the spot leaving the man, who was rescued by a night patrolling police team.
