JAIPUR: Chief minister Ashok Gehlot has directed officials to ensure proper supply of coal in order to generate the required volume of electricity in the state.
During a review meeting on coal on Friday, Gehlot asked officials to look for alternate measures to generate electricity in order to reduce the dependency on coal.
He asked power minister Bhanwar Singh Bhati, chief secretary Usha Sharma and other officials to raise the matter with the respected ministries and coordinate with them for the proper supply of the coal.
“In order to increase the supply of coal, it is required to coordinate with central goal ministry in coal India limited.
Also, it is required to coordinate with Indian Railways to allocate more wagons to lift the coal,” said Gehlot.
Other than importing calls the officials should take measures to purchase electricity through short term tenders.
“The officials should review the possibility of getting new coal blocks transportation and storage of the coal.”
